This oil tanned rustic dark brown "crazy horse" leather guitar strap is far from ordinary with 2 insets of coppery tortoise shell style celluloid (material used for pick guards). These are positioned 4 1/2" from the front peg hole and top ends at 13", so should be in the region between the player's shoulder and the guitar.
The upper most is oval that is 1" wide and 4" long, and the lower is trapezoidal, narrowing from 1" to 3/4" wide and 2 1/2" long. The celluloid is sandwiched against the strap leather with a thin and soft cowhide with cream finish to keep the tortoiseshell as bright as possible. The layers are then stitched with 2 rows around the inserts with a light orange thread to pick up the copper from the celluloid.
Then a thick soft cowhide piece fully covers all the celluloid, protecting the inserts, but also the player from any rigid edge of the material. The bobbin thread color blends in with the underside of this leather.
The main strap cowhide has a "crazy horse" finish--which is a "pull up" finish, meaning where it's folded or stressed becomes lighter in the "wrinkles", but there is enough oil in the finish you can buff most of those or scuffs out.
Given the rigid celluloid, this strap can not roll up as tightly as many, but there is enough space between each insert so it can be folded or rolled up loosely, as well as for maintaining flexibility & comfort during wear.

This strap also features my new logo specific to music accessories, "acoustic needle", and the logo is laser etched to the front just above the peg hole, and on the smaller adjustment strap.
This is my standard strap width, at 2 1/2" wide, and tapers to about a 1 1/2" radius for the front peg end, and down to 2 1/8" width on the slot end.
The 1" wide adjustment strap is made with the same leather as the main strap so it can weave through the adjustment slots easily, but it is still firm, and will not stretch. The edges are trimmed with a small radius bevel tool to soften the look. The hide is through-dyed, so it is consistent dark brown on the edges as on its soft suede split underside.
The overall length of this strap as shown is adjustable from about 46" to 57". The main strap is about 40" long, and has 11 slots spaced from about 28" to 38" from the front peg hole. The adjustment strap is 18" from slot to its rear peg hole when installed. (I refer to the front peg hole being on the main strap, and the rear is the adjustment slot).
The 1" wide adjustment strap loops through the chosen slot and is woven through the other slots to provide the desired length and fixes to the back pin on the guitar.
The holes for the pegs are punched at 5/16" in the front, and 3/8" in the back, and a small slit ends with a small hole at the top of the slit to prevent tears & the "keyhole" effect makes the strap easier to install & remove, and can accommodate most pegs. The firm leather and stitching around the front peg hole keeps strap to remain secured once it's fitted fully in place.
This design means the strap is only leather, and there is no metal or plastic hardware that could annoy you while you're playing, or your knock into you instrument while it's being moved or stored.
I can also provide leather "laces" if you prefer to tie the strap to the neck of the guitar, rather than using a front peg. And if you have a specific peg size you need to fit, please let me know. There is no extra charge for enlarging the peg holes or for the ties when you order the strap, but please note in the order if you want any of those changes.
