  This guitar strap is steel grey "distressed" coloring smooth full grain bison leather. It is 5-6oz oil tanned leather andin addition to the distressed look coloring, has "pull up" finish, which means it will lighten for a time where it's been stressed (folded), adding additional character to its varied hues. There may also be some wrinkling from the hide (fat folds in the animal) that appears as darker wavy lines--in the example I've placed those on the slot end, but this is not a textured finish, like the "shrunken" bison. I've included a piece of smooth black leather for color comparison of the strap vs. my grey background.
  
  Overall it has as a very smooth full grain finish, and is a bit firm new, but will ease in and soften and become more supple with wear. Bison is at least 30% tougher than cowhide, and it will hold acoustic, electric, and even bass guitars well for many years.
  
  The slot/adjustment strap weave design means the strap is only leather, and there is no metal or plastic hardware that could annoy you while you're playing, or your knock into you instrument while it's being moved or stored.
  
  Please note, until I can find another of this amazing hide, all I have left is one Traveler version! (July 2023).
  
  There are three length options for a 2 1/2" wide version, and one 2" wide , and all adjust by the inch:
  STANDARD is total of about 47" to 58"
  SHORTER is about 4" less, for total of about 43 to 54"
  LONGER is about 3" longer than standard, so is about 50 - 61".
  TRAVELER is 2" wide and is the shorter length, about 43"-54"
  
  (Please do inquire about customization--if I have enough of the hide uncut, I usually can accommodate your request. And I should be able to obtain new stock when needed).
  
  My standard sizing for the peg holes is the FRONT peg hole is punched at 5/16", and REAR peg hole is 3/8". Each end has a small slit that ends with a small hole for a "keyhole" effect to prevent tears and to make the strap easy to install & remove. The hole and can accommodate most pegs, but remains securely in place. These sizes are based on Taylor & Martin acoustic guitars, so if you have a specific peg size or strap locks you need to fit, please let me know and I can make a strap to suit the size you need.
  
  All of it is hand cut and hand punched, and I soften the cut edges with a small bevel tool, so there is a gentle transition from the top surface to the edge.
  
  The main strap is hand cut to 2 1/2" wide and tapers slightly at either end. And STANDARD main strap is about 42" long, with LONG being 3" longer, and SHORTER is 4" shorter. For all styles, I use the same adjustment strap, which is about 22" on its own, but when woven in, adds about 18" length from chosen slot to the peg hole.
  
  But as I cut these myself, I can easily modify the length, width, or spacing to get the fit that works for you. Or you can add more peg holes in this back strap for finer adjustment as you wear it in, or have holes only for strap locks vs. peg/strap button "keyhole".
  
  This is also laser etched a few inches above the front peg hole and on the adjustment strap with my guitar strap specific logo, Acoustic Needle.
  
  I can also provide coordinating leather "laces" if you prefer to tie the strap to the neck of the guitar, rather than using a front peg. There is no extra charge for these when you order the strap, but please note in the order you want it included.
